Jabodetabek Commuter Line User Volume Almost Reaches 1.15 Million People Per Day

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KCI noted that the volume trend of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users continues to show an increase.

The new record for the daily volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users is 1,149,417 people.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Joni Martinus said, on July 1, 2024 yesterday, on weekdays, the average user volume was recorded at 1,054,600 people per day.

The volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users at the beginning of the second semester shows a positive trend. The highest volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users is almost 1.15 million people," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, July 16.

Previously in the first semester, said Joni, the total volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users was recorded at 156,816,151 people. KAI Commuter also recorded the highest volume in the first semester, which was 1,042,066 people on Monday, April 1.

For daily services, continued Joni, KAI Commuter operates 1,048 commuter line trips from 04.00 to 24.00 WIB.

"With this number of available schedules, it is hoped that users will always plan their journey carefully and avoid traveling during morning peak hours (05.30-09.00 WIB) and in the afternoon (16.00-19.00 WIB)," said Joni.

Meanwhile, continued Joni, for the Commuter Line Basoetta service, at the beginning of the second semester, the average user at the end of the week was 5,437 people and on weekdays there were 6,761 people with a record high volume of 7,368 users on Friday, July 12.

By operating 56 trips from and to Manggarai-Soekarno Hatta PP Airport, plus user up and down services at Batu Ceper Station, Rawabuaya Station, Duri Station and BNI City Station, it is hoped that Commuter Line Basoetta can be an alternative public transportation at this time.

"Commuter Line Basoetta users can easily move from one transportation to another at Sudirman Station, which is a station connected to LRT, TransJakrta and MRT transportation," said Joni.

As for Commuter Line Merak, the average volume of users on weekdays in the early months of the second semester was 13,964 people per day or 36 percent higher when compared to the average in the first semester.

Meanwhile, the average volume of users on holidays and weekends is 15,632 people who are 16 percent higher than the average semester 1 of 2024 yesterday.

With this increasing volume trend of users, KAI Commuter will continue to make improvements across lines in order to improve services for its users. With these efforts, KAI Commuter wants to always be better in increasing services to all its users," he said.
