Support From Sumatra For Conglomerate Aburizal Bakrie's Son To Become Chairman Of The Indonesian Chamber Of Commerce And Industry

JAKARTA - A number of Chairmen of the Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry throughout Sumatra expressed their support for Anindya Bakrie to lead the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2021-2026.

Chairman of the North Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ivan Batubara, said that when the economy is in a slump because of COVID-19 like this, entrepreneurs need to recover together. And a suitable Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman is needed to rise.

"From the conclusion of our discussion, Mr. Anin is a suitable figure," said Ivan Batubara on the sidelines of the Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry gathering in Batam, as quoted from Antara, Friday, March 19.

His party has held a meeting with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in urban districts throughout North Sumatra to determine the choice of the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is considered capable of continuing the struggle of the previous leader.

He considered Anin has a lot of experience in the business world and organizations. Moreover, Anindya Bakrie has served at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 15 years and has proven to be able to complete difficult tasks well.

Agreeing with North Sumatra, the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bangka Belitung, Thomas Jusman, also supported Anin to lead Chamber of Commerce and Industry Indonesia.

The presence of seven Chamber of Commerce and Industry leaders from all over Sumatra in the gathering that Anindya attended in Batam, according to him, was a sign of solidarity to support him.

"Anin is a friendly, polite, educated person and has an emotional connection with the regions," he said.

He believes that Anin is able to empower the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in accordance with the determination of the conglomerate Aburizal Bakrie to develop Indonesia from the regions.

"I hope he will," he said.

Still, at the same event, Deputy Chairman of the Aceh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indra Azmi, stated that almost all regions support Anindya Bakrie.

"God willing, Anin will lead Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2021 to 2026," said Indra, representing the recently deceased Chairman of the Aceh Chamber of Commerce.

When confirmed regarding the support that flowed to him, Anindya Bakrie said the most important thing was that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry was united, so that everyone could move forward together.

"We have been devoted to Chamber of Commerce and Industry for a long time. Later, of course, after Mr. Rosan determines when there will be a national assembly, we want to continue his struggle," said Anin.
