Highest in History, RMK Energy Transports 916,800 Tons of Coal

JAKARTA - PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) successfully loaded 115 ships with a volume capacity of 916,800 metric tons (MT) of coal in June 2024 or an increase of 53 percent yoy. This volume is the highest since RMKE operated.

Until June 2024, the Company has loaded 3.9 million coal onto 495 barges and unloaded 1,627 train sets with a total capacity of 4.04 million MT of coal. The volume of barge loading and train unloading has reached the 2024 target of 42 percent and 40 percent, respectively.

From the coal sales segment, the Company has successfully sold 1.2 million MT of coal until June 2024 with a growth of 6.5 percent yoy.

The growth in coal sales volume was supported by the growth in in-house mining production, PT Truba Bara Banyu Enim (TBBE) which produced 92,400 MT of coal in June 2024 or increased by 31.8 percent mom or has reached this year's target of 30.7 percent.

The increase in coal production volume in June was supported by weather conditions that began to improve in the second quarter of 2024. Not only TBBE, but production from mines in the South Sumatra area also improved so that the volume of RMKE's barge loading also increased. Until June 2024, RMKE had achieved its 2024 coal sales target of 34.1 percent.

The Company's President Director, Vincent Saputra, said that in the second quarter of this year the weather was getting friendlier, the volume of the service segment and coal sales in June 2024 continued to increase significantly.

"Operational performance in June was very positive, even the volume of coal loading to barges this month reached the highest volume during RMKE's operations. Hopefully the weather conditions will improve in the following months, so that we can achieve this year's target in the second semester of 2024," said Vincent, Tuesday, July 9.

Vincent said, with improved operational performance, this will have a positive impact on financial performance in the second quarter of this year.

"RMKE will also develop coal logistics business outside the South Sumatra area this year by collaborating with new mines. With expansion opportunities outside South Sumatra and more collaborations, we are increasingly optimistic about being able to maintain sustainable operational and financial performance growth," concluded Vincent.
