Pupuk Indonesia Prepares 9.55 Million Tons Of Subsidized Fertilizer Support Food Self-Sufficiency

JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Indonesia has prepared 9.55 million tons of subsidized fertilizer in 2025 to support the realization of food self-sufficiency and has been distributed since January 1, 2025.

"In 2025, we received a mandate to distribute 9.55 million tons of subsidized fertilizer consisting of 4.6 million tons of urea, 4.3 million tons of NPK and 500 thousand tons of organic fertilizer," said Marketing Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia Tri Wahyudi Saleh at a Farmer Meeting in Jember Regency, East Java, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 7.

The number of subsidized fertilizer quotas is more than the 2024 quota which reached 7.2 million tons due to the many rules and his party received contracts in April 2024, so it was too late to distribute fertilizers to farmers.

"Until now, we have distributed around 10 thousand tons of subsidized fertilizer throughout Indonesia which has been distributed since January 1, 2025, so it is hoped that farmers will use it properly," he hoped.

According to him, PT Pupuk Indonesia is always ready to support government programs in agriculture in accelerating national food self-sufficiency.

"Through the provision of subsidized and non-subsidized fertilizers, with the assistance of soil tests for recommendations for proper fertilization doses, it is hoped that it can be a sustainable agricultural solution, especially for farmer groups in Wuluhan District, Jember Regency," he said.

Pupuk Indonesia juga menyiapkan Program Makmur (Mari Kita Majukan Usaha Rakyat) dengan memberikan layanan on-farm dan off-farm dengan pendampingan Tenaga Agronomi dan Taruna Makmur.

As of December 2024, from the target area of 350,000 hectares (ha), it has reached a realization of 451,536 ha or 129 percent, specifically for rice of 124,845 ha with 170 thousand fostered farmers spread across 24 provinces.

Tri Wahyudi said that concretely the activity was to follow up on President Prabowo Subianto's directives regarding the acceleration of self-sufficiency which was expected to be achieved in the shortest possible time.
