JAKARTA - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) won the Asia's Best CSR award at the 14th Asian Excellence Award 2024.

The 14th Asian Excellence Award 2024 event is a routine activity organized by Corporate Governance Asia, a magazine published by New Initiative Media Ltd.

BCA's EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, assesses that this achievement is inseparable from the inclusive Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program of Bakti BCA.

Hera revealed that the Bakti BCA program covers several aspects, namely health (Health Community), education (Education Certificate), culture (Cultural Security), community empowerment (MSMEs & Bakti Village BCA), and the environment (Environmental Development).

The campaign communicated various sustainable development programs from Bakti BCA as well as inviting all parties to contribute positively to sustainable development in Indonesia.

Over the past six months, the campaign has covered several activities.

Throughout the first semester of 2024, BCA has carried out financial literacy education from west to east of Indonesia, which was attended by more than 20,000 participants. BCA also provides Bakti BCA 2024 Scholarships for 700 students from 20 universities in Indonesia.

To improve school level education, BCA added four new fostered schools spread across the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), Bengkulu, Soe (East Nusa Tenggara), and Sorong (West Papua).

"Celebrating National Education Day, Bakti BCA held the BCA Sharing Science program initiated by a series of public lectures for more than 3,300 students in five universities and delivered directly by the BCA directors," he said.

Then, the company also contributes to the public health aspect. Throughout the first semester of 2024, BCA has implemented various programs, such as blood donation activities that managed to collect more than 1,200 blood bags.

Then, the Cataract Operations activities were free for nearly 200 patients and carried out in three locations, namely RSUD dr. Salim Alkatiri Namrole in South Buru, Pasangkayu Hospital in West Sulawesi, and RSUD in Central Bengkulu.

In addition, BCA provides medical assistance for more than 6,800 people at the BCA Bakti Development Clinic. Donations worth IDR 8 billion for the program in Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI).
