JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) said that the progress of the Tanjung Pura-Pangkalan Toll Road in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, has reached 92.05 percent.
Director of Operations III of HKI Aditya Novendra said that until the end of May 2024, the progress of the completion of the Tanjung Pura-Pangkalan Brandan segment had reached 92.05 percent.
"This toll road is planned to have two toll gates located at Tanjung Pura and Pangkalan Brandan, each. With a total length of 57 km, the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road can be completed thoroughly this year," Aditya said as quoted from the official Hutama Karya website, Tuesday, July 2.
Previously, the HKI had completed the 12.5 km Binjai-Stabat segment operated in 2022 and the 25 km Stabat-Kuala Bingai-Tanjung Pura segment which followed operations in 2023.
Currently, the HKI is boosting the construction of the 19.36 km Tanjung Pura-Pangkalan Brandan segment.
In the construction process, the HKI faces challenges, where the toll road route crosses the natural gas pipeline owned by PT Pertamina Gas.
To protect natural gas pipes from landslides, the HKI conducts protection by sollier piles and steel construction.
HKI also uses geotextile to protect gas pipes from the sun.
