ASN Will Move To IKN September, Kemenpan-RB: It's Not A Punishment

The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB) emphasized that the transfer of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to IKN in September 2024 was not a form of punishment.

Secretary of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, said that the transfer of ASN to the archipelago was a step by the government to further integrate public services.

"Anyway, the point is that the transfer to IKN is not a punishment or something, but it is indeed a place that we can integrate with, yes, in providing services to the community," said Rini when met at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 12.

Rini added that the transfer of ASN will wait for the readiness of supporting infrastructure at IKN and see the availability of available infrastructure.

On the same occasion, he said, the transfer of ministers with the Secretary General (Sekjen) was actually carried out simultaneously.

Given, echelon-level officials must be close to the minister.

"If we don't have talks like that, for example. For example, there are ministers, actually echelon one is needed, yes it must exist. But, right, it depends on the ministry. The issue of the secretary general is ready, the secretary general should be together with the minister, it should be. Yes, if the minister and the secretary general have to kick," he said.

Meanwhile, for the ASN transfer budget, Rini assessed that it was in each agency and his party did not know the components and still needed to be taken into account.

He stated that his party was only helping to prepare policies for which institutions should be moved first.

"Then what positions are there, they have to count. How many with positions like this, how many ASNs will be transferred. Like that," he added.
