The First Day Of The Long Holiday Of The Ascension Of Jesus Christ, Ship Passengers To Bali Soared

JAKARTA - PT. River, Lake and Crossing Transportation (ASDP) Ketapang Branch noted that the movement of passengers and vehicles on the first day of the holiday period and joint leave of the Rising Day of Jesus Christ increased.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin said the data recorded passenger movements for 24 hours starting Wednesday, May 8 at 08.00 WIB until Thursday 9 May at 08.00 WIB reached 1,814 people, and 11,133 vehicles.

Vehicles crossing are dominated by 2,977 vehicles (motorcycles), followed by the IVA (private passenger car) group as many as 2,676 units. For logistics vehicles, including the IVB 995 unit class, the VB 2,098 unit group, the class VI B (fuso) as many as 618 units, and the class VII 1,030 units.

The post data also noted, continued Shelvy, that out of the total transactions of service users in Ketapang-Gilimanuk, around 35 percent (nearly 5,000 units) made purchases via online Ferizy.

"If you refer to the data, the movement of goods vehicles from Java to Bali has increased when compared to normal days, but services are smoothly under control. One of the reasons for increasing the traffic of goods vehicles is triggered by the high need for tourist logistics in Bali this weekend," Shelvy said in an official statement Friday, May 10.

Meanwhile, continued Shelvy, from Java to Sumatra, passenger movements for 24 hours from Wednesday, May 8 to Thursday, May 9, there were 2,384 people with a total of 8,610 vehicles, which were dominated by 1,150 motorcycles, 2,968 private passenger cars.

"Followed by 1,484 VB class goods vehicles, 1,234 units of group VI B, 766 units of class VII," he explained.

Referring to Merak Branch data in March or the period before Eid, the average number of vehicles crossing on weekday was 6,066 units per day or a decrease of 2 percent compared to March 2023 of 6,164 per day. Meanwhile, during weekends, 7,257 units were recorded per day, an increase of 5 percent compared to the same period last year of 6,932 units per day.

Meanwhile, the average number of vehicles crossing the 2024 Eid Transport on Sunday was 11,992 per day, while on weekends there were 14,511 per day.

Furthermore, Shelvy said that the movement across Merak-Bakauheni is expected to increase again on Friday, May 10 to Saturday, May 11. He also reminded prospective passengers to buy tickets independently only on the Ferizy website, the Ferizy application or official ticket sales partners.
