Jokowi's Message To Regional Heads: Budget Don't Be Retailed, Determine A Clear Procurity Scale

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized to regional heads that the regional budget (APBD) should not be distributed to agencies so that it does not have a clear priority scale on development programs.

"The budget is retailed to agencies, everything is given, there is no clear priority scale. There is an increase of 10 percent, everything is given 10 percent, it is not clear which priority scale," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

He also asked regional heads to implement development programs in the results-oriented Government Work Plan (RKP).

"Don't let the budget be used for most meetings and mostly comparative studies. Never mind it's the past, in the future don't let that happen again," he said.

Still, Jokowi said, the preparation of RKP programs must be in line between the agenda of the central and regional governments.

In addition to synchronization, the program in the RKP must also be oriented towards results that provide regional economic income.

Finally, Jokowi advised that the programs carried out are right on target and strategic, so that the benefits of the APBN and APBD can be felt directly by the community.

For example, the stunting alleviation budget provided through the Puskesmas should not be used to purchase Puskesmas fences.

"The budget for stunting for puskesmas is given to the puskesmas, so the puskesmas fence. Yes, don't say no. There is. It has nothing to do with stunting with fences," concluded Jokowi.
