PTPP Completes Tiu S Dam Project For Package II

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has successfully completed the construction of the Tiu S Dam project for Package II with an area of 464.63 Ha. There are 2 work packages for the Tiu SUnduk Dam Development project, where PTPP is the leader for the construction of the package II dam.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated directly by turning the lever of the floodgate and signing the inscription as a symbolic form. Also present at the inauguration ceremony were Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Acting Governor of NTB Lalu Gita Aryadi, Regent of West Sumbawa W. Musyafirin, President Director of PT Nindya Karya Moeharmein ZC, and President Director of PTPP Novel Arsyad.

The Tiu S Dam for Package II project is the Joint Operation project between PT PP (Persero) Tbk with a portion of 57.5 percent and PT Mafri Jaya Abadi with a portion of 42.5 percent, has a capacity of 60.85 million M3 and has an inundation area of 321.51 Hektar.

This dam is one of the government's national strategic projects with a contract value of IDR 577.13 billion and an implementation period from 2020 to 2023. This project has benefits for irrigation covering an area of 1,900 Hectares, raw water 680 liters/second, and to reduce flooding in the area around West Sumbawa. In his remarks, President Joko Widodo said that currently NTB is the province with the most dams.

"The government in 10 years has built seven dams in NTB, only in NTB, at most and the Tiu Suk Dam for this is one of the major dams," said the President, quoted on Friday, May 3.

The President explained that the dam, which spent a budget of IDR 1.4 trillion, could provide a number of real benefits for the surrounding community. President Director of PTPP Novel Arsyad is quite proud of the successful completion of the Tiu S Dam project for Package II which is a national strategic project (PSN) and has been inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

PTPP is proud to be able to complete the construction work of the dam project tiu for package II in accordance with the target, quality, and zero accident. Of course, the inauguration of the Tiu S Dam for Package II adds to PTPP's experience in completing dam projects throughout Indonesia," said Novel.

Previously, PTPP had completed several dam projects which were National Strategic Projects, namely Lolak Dam, Leuwikeris Dam, Lausimeme Dam, and Tamblang Dam.

"PTPP will continue to be committed to being able to provide the best quality in completing national strategic projects that have been mandated to the Company, so that it is hoped that the projects that have been completed by PTPP can increase added value in order to support the Indonesian government's program to encourage productivity and welfare of the Indonesian people, along with the company's commitment to creating sustainable development," concluded Novel.
