Misinput Data, Sri Mulyani Calls The Case Of Buying Taxable Imported Shoes Rp31 Million Has Been Completed

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati opened her voice regarding the Customs and Excise Directorate which was in the public spotlight because several cases went viral.

In the Instagram upload @smindrawati, Sri Mulyani said that together with the leadership of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, she discussed various actual issues related to Customs and Excise services at Soekarno Hatta Airport.

Sri Mulyani conveyed that the cases discussed included the delivery of shoes affected by import duties of up to Rp31 million and a similar action figure (robotic), namely complaints about the imposition of import duties and taxes.

"In these two cases, indications were found that the price notified by the deposit service company (PJT) was lower than the actual (under-invoiting)," he explained in his upload, Sunday, April 28.

Therefore, Sri Mulyani said that Customs and Excise officers had corrected it for the purposes of calculating import duties and taxes.

According to Sri Mulyani, the two problems have been resolved because the Import Duty and Taxes have been paid, so the goods have also been received by the recipients of the goods.

Previously, the Director General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Askolani explained that his party had facilitated the issue of viral shoe imports for Rp. 10 million but was subject to import duties of Rp. 31 million. This is due to the imposition of administrative sanctions on fines due to the company of deposit services (PJT) misintegrating data.

"Like yesterday's shoe case, after we facilitated with PJT, we have helped, we completed it and then the sender mechanism became something that might still be pending between consumers and their shippers abroad," he said at the KITA State Budget press conference Friday, April 26.

Asko ensured that the customs process was carried out in a transparent and consistent manner in accordance with the provisions.

In addition, Asko conveyed a policy regarding the importation of goods sent depending on the regulator. Meanwhile, the Customs and Excise position only implements the policy.

"So our position in Customs and Excise implements the policy, so if my friends ask whether Customs and Excise are stiff? Customs is only carrying out, there is no stiffness. We are very supportive and make transparency," explained Askolani.
