KKP Opens New Cadet Registration For 11 Vocational High Educations, Check Dates

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has begun to open new student admissions (pentaru) in the KKP higher education unit, which is divided into two waves of registration in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Head of the Marine and Fisheries Human Resources Counseling and Development Agency (BPPSDM) KKP I Nyoman Radiarta said, KKP has 11 units of vocational higher education.

A total of 10 units of vocational higher education implemented the Non-Financial Management of the Public Service Agency (Non PKBLU) which is intended for 100 percent of the main children of marine and fisheries actors (special routes).

The special route is intended for fishermen, cultivators, processors and fish farmers as well as salt farmers with education costs borne by the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"The education unit has Diploma I, Diploma III and Diploma IV Programs," said Nyoman, quoted from the KKP official website, Friday, April 5.

Apart from the 10 educational units, Nyoman said, there was one vocational higher education unit that implemented the Financial Management of the Public Service Agency (BLU), namely the KP Sidoarjo Polytechnic, East Java, with the Diploma III program.

"On this campus, the students consist of 80 percent of the general public (public route) at the expense of students (independent) and 20 percent of the main children of marine and fisheries actors (special routes) with education costs borne by the state budget," he said.

Nyoman said that the study program at the Sidoarjo KKP Polytechnic consists of Fishery Cultivation Engineering, Fishery Product Processing Techniques, Fisheries Agribusiness, Fishery Fishery Fisheries and Fishery Pathology Handling Engineering.

Regarding the registration wave, he added that there are two waves in the 2024 Pentaru, namely wave 1 for general lanes starting from April 4 to May 31, 2024 and specifically for wave two for public lanes only from June 3 to June 26, 2024.

Then, the registration process was followed by administrative selection and document verification and announcement of the results.

After passing the administrative selection results, the registrant fills in and uploads a report card (public and special route), participating in the academic selection using the Computer Based Test (only general route).

Furthermore, participants continued the physical, health and interview selection (public and special routes) on 10-15 June 2024 (wave 1) and 1-5 July 2024 (wave 2).

Announcement of the final selection results on June 24, 2024 (wave 1) and July 10, 2024 (wave 2), with a rebuttal period on June 24-26, 2024 (wave 1) and 10-12 July 2024 (wave 2).

After the announcement of the rebuttal period, participants who pass the final selection are required to re-list on July 1-8, 2024 (wave 1) and July 12-15, 2024 (wave 2).

"All the next cadet candidates will be admitted to the dormitory on July 15, 2024," he added.

For your information, the educational unit within the scope of the KKP applies a vocational education system with a technical factory approach.

The approach includes the business world and the industrial world in the education curriculum, including the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka Program (MBKM). The portion of education provided is 70 percent practice and 30 percent theory.

KP education graduates receive diplomas as well as certificates of national and international standard expertise and competence and are recognized by the business world and the industrial world, both at home and abroad.

The Diploma III program is located in eight (8) KP Polytechnics, namely in Bitung, North Sulawesi; Sorong, West Papua; Karawang, West Java; Bone, South Sulawesi; Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; Pangandaran, West Java; Dumai, Riau; and Jembrana, Bali.

The two levels of education have a study program consisting of Fish Catching/Capture Fishery Mechanics/Ownedry Engineering, Fishery Product Processing Engineering/Seaven Product Processing, Fish Cultivation/Aquaculture Engineering and Marine Technology/Technicals.

Next, Diploma IV education level is located at the Fisheries Business Expert Polytechnic in five (5) campuses, namely Jakarta (President Campus); Aceh; Pariaman, West Sumatra; Lampung; Tegal, Central Java; and Maluku.

The programs consist of Fish Fishing Technology, Fishery Machinery, Fishery Product Processing Technology, Accultural Technology, Water Resources Management Technology and Fishery Counseling.
