Looking For New Income, KAI Offers Naming Rights For 18 Jabodebek LRT Stations

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI Jabodebek LRT Division is eyeing new income outside ticket sales.

One of them is through offering station naming rights (naming rights).

For your information, naming rights is nothing new.

KAI itself has done this before with the naming of the BNI brand at the airport train station, namely BNI City.

Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono said the Jabodebek LRT has 18 stations.

However, he said, the right to name a station has been contracted, namely at Pancoran Station.

But unfortunately, Mahendro was reluctant to reveal which party participated in the Pancoran Station's naming rights. He said, later it would be announced by the contracting party.

"Until now, what is certain is that what I mentioned in Pancoran is that there has been a contract one. Later, from those who have stated it," he told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 26.

"So for the remaining 17 stations, we will offer the station naming rights to agencies or companies," he continued.

Furthermore, Mahendro said, there is no limit to the contract period for naming rights, but generally it is around three to five years.

Even so, Mahendro was also reluctant to be open about the benefits obtained from naming rights.

"The contract period is between 3 and 5 years. The Pancoran Station is 3 years," he said.

Apart from Pancoran Station, continued Mahendro, the Dukuh Atas Staisun will also follow to get naming rights.

For other stations, Dukuh Atas has also expressed interest. From line 1 from Cawang to North, there is more potential for interest actually. It's just that it's still in talks, nothing has been fixed yet," he explained.
