Make Sure It's Safe During Ramadan, PLN EPI Boss: Stock Of Coal And Gas Plants Above 20 HOPs

JAKARTA - PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) ensures the reliability of electricity supply during the Ramadan period by strengthening the power supply of power plants.

"PLN EPI is ready to provide reliable electricity supply during the Ramadan period this year. The stock of power plants is currently at a safe level," said PLN EPI President Director Iwan Agung Firstantara in a statement to VOI, Friday, March 22.

Iwan said the coal stock for power plants is generally in a safe condition.

"The need for coal for power plants is currently in a safe condition with an average of more than 20 Operations Days (HOP)," said Iwan.

Iwan detailed that the stock of coal from the PLN Steam Power Plant (PLTU) for the Java-Madura-Bali (Jamali) system reached 26.6 HOP. Meanwhile, the stock for the Sumatra-Kalimantan (Sumkal) system is 22.6 HOP and for Sulawesi-Maluku-Papua-Nusa Tenggara is 32.6 HOP.

In addition to coal needs, PLN also guarantees the availability of other primary energy needs such as fuel and gas. With the stock of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) above 20 HOPs.

It was noted that the nomination for gas needs for PLN power plants nationally reached 1,220 BBTUD with an average realization of 1,229 BBTUD.

Meanwhile, the fulfillment of fuel needs as fuel for power plants also continues to be strengthened where the average fuel stock in all systems is now above 11 HOPs.

"PLN EPI is committed to providing optimal hydropower supply security so that people can carry out worship in the month of Ramadan comfortably and solemnly," concluded Iwan.
