Coordinating Minister Airlangga Expressed That The Indonesian Investment Climate Has Not Been Seen After The KPU Set Prabowo-Gibran To Win The 2024 Presidential Election

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that investment activities have not started to increase after the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

For information, the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) has targeted investment in 2024 to reach IDR 1,650 trillion from 2023 which was recorded at IDR 1,407 trillion.

"Yes, it's only been a day," he explained to the media crew at the Ministry of Economy, Thursday, March 21, 2024.

Airlangga added that the investment target that had been announced was not an easy matter.

However, he is optimistic that investor interest will still show a positive interest in investment in Indonesia when the government holds various meetings.

"If the investment is in the medium-term, I think with the situation in Indonesia, investment will continue, as in various meetings abroad investors continue to express interest and it will not be affected by the presidential election," he said.

Previously, the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Perry Warjiyo revealed that currently investment has increased because investors are no longer waiting and see after the 2024 General Election.

Investasi mulai meningkat, itu terutama pada perusahaan-perusahaan yang memang memiliki sebuah kegiatan ekonomi, kegiatan bisnis yang terus meningkat, seperti sales, salesnya mulai tinggi, ujar Perry dalam Konferensi Pers, Rabu 20 Maret 2024.

Perry menyampaikan, pola kegiatan belanja modal or capital expenditure sudah mulai meningkat setelah sempat mengalami penurunan.

"We have seen that the trend of capital expenditure has decreased, but in recent times the capital expenditure has started to increase, so this shows that the company's wait and see pattern has changed from these last times," said Perry.
