Welcoming The Month Of Ramadan, Bibit.id Invites The Sharia SBN Investment Society SR020

Towards Ramadan, the Government officially issued State Sharia Securities (SBSN) Sukuk Retail series SR020 with an offering period that took place on March 1-27, 2024. SR020 was issued in two types of products, namely SR020-T3 and SR020-T5. SR020-T3 has a three-year tenor with fixed yields of 6.30 percent per year, while SR020-T5 has a five-year tenor with a fixed yield of 6.40% per year.

Bibit.id, which was named by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance as the Best Retail SBSN Distribution Partner in 2022 and 2023, believes that SR020 will get a positive response from the Indonesian people, especially the momentum coincides with the holy month of Ramadan and the moment of THR distribution in March 2024. Currently, interest rates are projected to be at the peak. This is the right moment to lock the yields high and stable from SR020 for the next three or five years before interest rates drop. In Semester II of 2024, interest rates are predicted to be cut, but there is no need to worry because even though interest rates are down, SR020 coupons will not decrease because they are fixed.

"The yield of SR020-T3 of 6.30 percent per year is the highest SR yield for the last three years when compared to the same tenor. In addition, SR020-T5 yields of 6.40 percent per year are equally attractive. This makes SR020 have higher yields than BI's benchmark interest rate and deposits. This is the right moment for investors to lock these high yields before interest rates are predicted to fall in the future," added Angie.

This SR020 can also be an alternative monthly fixed income, because the SR020 yield (coupon) will be received by investors every month on the 10th, with the first coupon on May 10, 2024 (long couple). The purchase/minimum purchase for SR020-T3 is IDR 1 million and a multiple of IDR 1 million with a maximum of IDR 5 billion, while the minimum purchase/order for SR020-T5 is IDR 1 million and a multiple of IDR 1 million with a maximum of IDR 10 billion.

SR020 is a type of SBN that can be sold in the secondary market (tradeable) before it matures. But keep in mind, sales of SR020 before it matures will follow the availability of buyers in the secondary market and the selling price of SR follows the market price, can go up or down.

For information, in the last three SBSN issuances, namely Sukuk Retail series ST010 (12 May-7 June 2023), SR019 (18 August-13 September 2023), and St011 on 6 November-6 December 2023 ago, Bibit managed to become the Fintech category Distribution Partner with the most sales.
