Telkom And PLN Icon Plus Will Build Telecommunication Infrastructure At IKN

Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure of OIKN Silvia Hakim said there are two SOEs that will first provide telecommunication infrastructure at IKN, namely Telkom and PLN's Icon Plus.

"We carry business as usual/investment. From that process, we managed to get two business entities that will provide telecommunication infrastructure, namely PT Telkom Indonesia and Icon Plus," said Silvia at the Public Expose for Joint Infrastructure Organizers Telekomunikasi and Market Briefing at The Westin, Jakarta, Monday, January 15.

Silvia said that this was an opportunity as well as a challenge. Because, his party will really ensure and pursue that the telecommunications infrastructure is ready to operate in August.

"What is expected, we want other business entities to be involved in the provision of telecommunications for IKN," he said.

According to Silvia, currently in IKN itself, an infrastructure shared concept is being built called Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT). This means that all telecommunications service providers can participate in providing telecommunications networks at IKN.

"So, the concept of sharing is that one infrastructure can be used in a crowd. This means that all telecommunication service providers can participate, so it is not crossed by Telkom and Icon Plus only because one of the basic principles of infrastructure sharing is that it must be open to all telecommunications business entities and must be non-discriminatory," he said.

"So, the opportunity for all business entities to be involved in the provision of telecommunications at IKN is broad. We want to invite the participation of other business entities in the future as well," he added.
