OJK Revokes BPR Dananta Business License In Kudus, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked the business license of PT BPR Dananta, which is located at Jalan Ronggolawe Ruko Number 19 A, Jati District, Kudus Regency, Central Java Province. This is in accordance with the Decree of the OJK Board of Commissioners Number KEP-38/D.03/2024 dated April 30, 2024.

The Head of OJK for Central Java Province, Sumarjono, said that the revocation of PT BPR Dananta's business license was part of the surveillance action taken by the OJK to continue to maintain and strengthen the banking industry and protect consumers.

"On December 13, 2023, the OJK has determined that PT BPR Dananta is under the supervision status of the Bank in Restructuring with the consideration that the Health Level (TKS) has an unhealthy predicate," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, April 30.

Sumarjono said that on March 28, 2024, OJK determined PT BPR Dananta to be under the supervision status of Bank Dalam Resolution with the consideration that OJK had given time according to the provisions to the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of BPR including Shareholders to make restructuring efforts including overcoming Capital and Liquidity problems.

This is regulated in the Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 28 of 2023 dated December 29, 2023 concerning the Determination of Status and Follow-up to the Supervision of the People's Economy Bank and the Sharia People's Economy Bank.

"However, the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners and Shareholders of the BPR cannot restore the BPR," he explained.

Furthermore, based on a Copy of the Decree of the Board of Commissioners Number 68/ADK3/2024 dated April 23, 2024 concerning Bank Resolution in PT BPR Dananta's Resolution, the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) decided not to rescue PT BPR Dananta and asked OJK to revoke BPR's business license.

Following up on the LPS request, OJK based on Article 19 of POJK above, revoked the business license of PT BPR Dananta.

With the revocation of this business license, LPS will carry out the guarantee function and carry out the liquidation process in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24 of 2004 concerning the Deposit Insurance Corporation and Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector.

In addition, OJK continues to appeal to BPR customers to remain calm because community funds at Perbankan including BPR are guaranteed by LPS in accordance with applicable regulations.
