JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) laid the first stone or groundbreaking for the construction of a central public hospital or RSUP in the State Capital (IKN) Nusantara located in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, today.

"Three private hospitals that we groundbreaking for last month, two months ago, three months ago, and today we are groundbreaking again for the RSUP to be built by the government," Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Wednesday, December 20.

Previously, Jokowi had conducted groundbreaking for three private hospitals.

The three hospitals are Hermina Hospital, Abdi Waluyo Hospital, and Mayapada Hospital.

"After this, three more private hospitals (for groundbreaking) have queued up. I don't know about this IKN, how come people flocked to establish hospitals," he said.

Jokowi assessed that with the start of the construction of the RSUP, it is hoped that the public will no longer carry out health checks or treatment abroad.

"This should be when everything is finished, no one of our people will go to Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, the US, for this health. We hope that everything can be done in Indonesia, especially in IKN," he said.

Although the RSUP to be built in IKN is focused on dealing with heart disease and stroke.

However, Jokowi hopes that the public can avoid the two diseases.

This is because later the construction of the RSUP itself will be designed with the concept of green building or green building.

"If we look at the greenness here, the oxygen is a lot, my mind should be happy, the stroke is away, I think, his heart is also away because of the green atmosphere. Indeed, in the future, I always emphasize to anyone who builds at IKN the building must be a green building, green building," said Jokowi.

In addition, Jokowi will also reforestation at IKN Nusantara.

This is done so that IKN really becomes a very green capital area, so that in any country no capital such as IKN is found.
