JAKARTA - The creative industries sector has performed well this year. The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) noted that the realization of the added value of the creative industry reached IDR 1.05 trillion in the third quarter of 2023 or had reached 82.1 percent of the 2023 target of IDR 1.28 trillion.

In addition, the export performance of the creative industry in the third quarter of 2023 was recorded at 17.4 billion US dollars, with the fashion subsector contributing up to 9.88 billion US dollars and the crafts subsector contributing 6.26 billion US dollars.

"This is a proud achievement and shows that the prospects for the creative industry in Indonesia are getting bigger," said Director General of Small, Medium and Miscellaneous Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry Reni Yanita in a written statement, quoted Wednesday, December 13.

Reni said that his party plays an active role in providing a development platform for young people who become SMEs, especially those based in the creative sector through the Creative Business Incubator (CBI) program which is implemented at the Bali Creative Industry Center (BCIC).

The CBI program itself is an effort to foster creative SMEs, especially in the fashion and crafts sector, in developing their businesses so they can move up in class.

"We hope that the guidance we provide through this program can inspire participants to be able to use the knowledge they have gained, maintain information and communication networks between participants and resource persons, as well as become economic drivers in society and become examples for fashion and craft industry players," Reni said.

He added that he hopes that the CBI participants who have gained knowledge and insight will also be able to share their experiences with fellow creative industry players who are also running businesses.

As for the 2023 class session, the CBI program was attended by 60 participants from 17 provinces and 47 districts/cities.

"It is hoped that this distribution figure can increase because each region has its own unique potential and creativity that needs to be explored and promoted," added Reni.
