JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the progress of the development of the basic infrastructure for the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago has now reached more than 60 percent as a whole.

This was revealed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of PUPR Zainal Fatah after being met at the PUPR Ministry Building, Jakarta, on Monday, December 11.

"The first phase of the IKN progress is around 61.3 percent," said Zainal.

Zainal said that the second phase of infrastructure development or batch 2 was a bit slow to progress. Because, there are several projects that have just started construction.

"If the first stage is around 61.3 percent, then there are those who follow, for example, like the ASN House. Of course those who follow, right, (the progress can't be the same). So, if this is combined, the total progress is around 28 percent," he said.

The Ministry of PUPR itself carried out support for infrastructure in IKN in 2020-2024 amounting to IDR 60.99 trillion, consisting of 85 work packages.

Regarding the details, the basic infrastructure development for phase 1 in IKN consists of 40 work packages with a total allocated budget of IDR 24.52 trillion.

Meanwhile, for the second phase carried out after March 2023, the budget is IDR 36.46 trillion for 45 work packages with the latest progress reported at 3 percent.

The acceleration of basic infrastructure development continues to be accelerated in line with the massive investment in IKN.

In fact, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is optimistic that IKN as a whole will be completed within the next 15 to 20 years.

President Jokowi previously also said that the commitment of state investment and a number of private sectors in IKN would reach around Rp45 trillion by the end of 2023.

In detail, the total investment injected by PMDN at the groundbreaking last September reached IDR 23 trillion.

Then, in November 2023 it was IDR 12 trillion, and in December 2023 it was targeted to reach IDR 10 trillion.
