JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania H.E. Mr Gabrielius Landsbergis at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Monday, October 30.
The meeting discussed various cooperation opportunities, especially in the field of digital infrastructure, which is Lithuania's advantage.
Coordinating Minister Airlangga said that Indonesia was open to collaborating in the fields of data and cyber security.
“The Indonesian government wants to develop cooperation regarding data protection and copyright. Apart from that, one of Indonesia's focuses is to create zero blank spots on all islands in Indonesia. "For this reason, we would like to invite Lithuania to work together to build infrastructure, especially in the digital sector," stressed Airlangga in his written statement on Monday, October 30 2023.
Airlangga hopes that Lithuania can support Indonesia's accession process to the OECD, one of which is by sharing its experiences with Indonesia.
Foreign Minister Landsbergis said that the Lithuanian government is ready to support Indonesia to fulfill all the requirements for accession as an OECD member.
"We are ready to help carry out training, send experts, and form a consultation group with Indonesia," he explained.
Landsbergis expressed his interest in collaborating with Indonesia in the dairy products sector. Regarding this matter, the dairy company from Lithuania is ready to fulfill the requirements that apply in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the two ministers discussed efforts to accelerate the completion of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA) negotiations which are currently still being negotiated by both parties.

On the other hand, Landsbergis also touched on the plans of the Lithuanian industrialists association to develop cooperation with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
