Online Seller Asks Zulhas Not To Remove TikTok Shop

JAKARTA - The ban on TikTok shops serving buying and selling transactions has worried online sellers.

The reason is, with this new rule, they are threatened with losing customers.

One of Chacha's online business actors requested that the TikTok Shop service remain.

Chacha admitted that there is no problem having to switch if later between social media and TikTok Shop the application is distinguished.

This was conveyed to the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan at the Asemka Wholesale Center, West Jakarta, Friday, September 29.

"Please, sir, TikTok Shop, don't. Because it's dangerous, sir, how do my employees stay at home. I have employees 10, if TikTok is just separated, the e-commerce is okay. We obey, we follow government regulations," said Chacha.

"But if the information is to be deleted, we will lose a bit. Because we have employees at home 10," he continued.

Chacha itself has a TikTok account that is actively used to sell accessories under the Chachajkt name.

Based on VOI's monitoring, this account was followed by 73,800 followers.

Responding to Chacha's request, Zulkifli said, the ban on TikTok Shop to serve buying and selling transactions is because this platform holds permits as social media.

Zulhas, Zulkifli Hasan's nickname, added that if you want to serve trading activities, you must replace your business license as an e-commerce.

"If he wants to (be) e-commerce, he (the permit) is e-commerce only. If he wants to be a social-commerce, he is social-commerce," said Zulhas.

"He (TikTok) bought everything. Everyone can't buy one business (there is), it's not allowed," continued.

Zulhas also suggested that Chacha also sell his products on other e-commerce. So, it doesn't just couple to one platform like TikTok Shop.

"There is e-commerce (other)," he said.
