JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) ensures that it continues to continuously improve its capabilities and services in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers. One of them is socialization to increase the understanding of distributors and kiosks related to regulations, to support the implementation of kiosk digitization to make it easier for farmers to redeem subsidized fertilizers.

SVP Secretary of the Indonesian Fertilizer Company, Wijaya Laksana stated that increasing the ability and service of subsidized fertilizer distribution will involve various parties, ranging from distributors, kiosks, to agriculture services in various regions. This is in line with the recommendations of the Special Task Force (Satgassus) of the National Police regarding subsidized fertilizers in Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency, South Sumatra, which was conveyed by the Head of the Task Force at the National Police Headquarters, Hotman Tambunan, last Sunday, July 30.

"In principle, we always provide socialization to kiosks and distributors periodically, because we do have representative offices in a number of provinces. In addition, we also have hundreds of field marketing officers spread across all districts," explained Wijaya in Jakarta, quoted Thursday, August 3.

Wijaya further explained that Pupuk Indonesia as a producer distributed subsidized fertilizers in accordance with the allocation set by the Government, until July 28, 2023, the realization of the distribution of subsidized fertilizers nationally had reached 3.83 million tons, details of Urea of 2.25 million tons and NPK of 1.55 million tons.

Meanwhile, the national subsidized fertilizer stock available in line III warehouses or district levels was recorded at 853,255 tons or equivalent to 353 percent of the minimum provisions set by the Government. As for the details, Urea is 513,604 tons and NPK is 339,651 tons as of July 31, 2023.

"The absorption of subsidized fertilizers will usually increase again when entering the rainy season which usually occurs at the end of the year. On this occasion, the kiosks will again increase their stock," he explained.

The increase in the ability and service of subsidized fertilizer distribution, continued Wijaya, was also carried out by implementing the digitization of kiosks. Until now, Pupuk Indonesia has conducted trials of digitizing kiosks in 5 provinces, namely Bali, Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Riau, and South Kalimantan. In the near future, Pupuk Indonesia together with the Ministry of Agriculture will continue to expand the area of implementing kiosk digitization.

According to Wijaya, the digitization of kiosks will drastically change the process of managing kiosks, from previously filling out many paper forms, now everything is recorded digitally and online in an application. Thus, every transaction of redeeming subsidized fertilizers is recorded in real time, thereby increasing transparency to the accuracy of subsidized fertilizer recipients.

"In addition, it can also improve services to farmers, because farmers only need to bring ID cards to redeem subsidized fertilizers at official kiosks," explained Wijaya.
