PPI, Ministry Of Trade, And Egyptian Ambassadors, Run First Export Release Of 25 Tons Of Coffee With Trade Imbal Scheme

JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) Member of ID Food became the Imbal Trade Implementing Agency which dispatched 25 tons of coffee exports to Egypt worth 60,000 US dollars.

The release of the coffee export was released by the Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade Didi Sumedi, Special Staff of the Ministry of Trade Bara Krishna Hasibuan, Ambassador of Egypt to Indonesia HE Ashraf Sultan, and President Director of PPI Nina Sulistyowati, in Subang on Wednesday, April 5.

Previously, PPI together with A to Z for Import & Export Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding trade trade cooperation which was carried out virtually in Jakarta and Egypt some time ago.

A to Z for Import & Export Company is a company engaged in exports and imports in Egypt.

In exploring their respective markets, PPI and A to Z for Import & Export Company as the Imbal Trade Implementing Agency in their respective countries, prepare products and / or commodities that will be exported and / or imported to Indonesia and Egypt. In this first phase of the Trade Imbal, Indonesia sent 25 tons of coffee worth 60,000 US dollars and Egypt sent 50 tons of dates worth 60,000 US dollars.

In exports with the Imbal Trade scheme this time, PPI involves the Gunung Luhur Berkah Producer Cooperative to counter trade with A to Z For Import & Export Company.

President Director of PPI Nina Sulistyowati revealed that this coffee export was carried out in collaboration with local farmers who aim to encourage national economic growth, exposing the potential of Indonesian commodities to meet coffee demand abroad.

"For this Trade Imbal, PPI involves the Cooperative of Gunung Luhur Berkah Producers who produce coffee in the Subang area, as exporters as well as importers from Indonesia," said Nina, in a written statement, Thursday, April 6.

Ke depan, dengan PPI sebagai Badan Pelaksana Imbal Dagang, akan berupaya mengembangkan potensi ekspor lain dari Indonesia ke Mesir dengan skema imbal dagang, dengan didukung pada posisi PPI dalam holding BUMN Pangan ID Food sebagai aggregator perdagangan dan logistik.

In the remarks of the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, delivered by the Special Staff of the Minister of Trade Bara Krishna Hasibuan, the Minister of Trade appreciated the PPI and the Gunung Luhur Berkah Cooperative for supporting the Government's program to increase foreign exchange exports and savings through trading with the Imbal Trade scheme through the release of Coffee Exports to Egypt.

In mid-May 2023, the Minister of Trade will lead a trade mission to Egypt and meet with the Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt in an effort to strengthen trade cooperation between the two countries. Today's Imbal Trade Transaction will also be one of the deliverables and success stories that will be presented on the trade mission.

The Ministry of Trade will continue to provide facilitation in the context of trade returns transactions. Currently, the facilitation provided by the Government is still limited and not comprehensive. The facilities provided still include the provision of financing, guarantee and insurance facilities under the Trade Finance (TF) Special Export Assignment (PKE) program in accordance with the mandate of KMK No 494/KMK.08/2022.
