PGN Subholding Gas Groundbreaking 352 KM Domestic Commercial Gas Pipeline Network Bintaro Area

PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding carried out a groundbreaking for the construction of a gas network for households, small and commercial businesses in the Bintaro area, South Tangerang. PGN will build a backbone pipe and distribution pipeline along about 352.8 km.

PGN is building pipeline infrastructure for the Bintaro area in stages. First of all, the Main Pipe along 36.3 Km towards Regulating System (RS). This master pipeline is under intermediate pressure (0.4 4 barg) with a diameter of 180 mm. Furthermore, the low-pressure distribution pipeline (less than 0.4 barg) built from the hospital for distribution of natural gas to customers along 315.9 km.

As previously planned, the expansion of the gas network in South Tangerang is targeted to reach 35,749 Home Connections, 203 small and 38 commercial customers.

Backbone pipes and distribution pipes are expected to be built within a predetermined time duration, which is completed in June 2023. The readiness of pipe infrastructure is followed by natural gas which will be channeled to meet customer needs in various sectors," said PGN Director of Infrastructure and Technology Achmad Muchtasyar, Tuesday, March 14.

PGN is committed that in the construction of natural gas networks in the Bintaro area, it prioritizes security, maintaining cleanliness, and aesthetics of work. Given that during construction, it requires excavation of land around public facilities and the residential environment of residents. Therefore, PGN also provides socialization or explanation regarding the technical construction of pipelines to residents.

We provide personnel who are dedicated, responsible for work, and have licensing for work devices. Being responsible for this is also inseparable from complying with regulations set by the Bintaro area manager and applicable laws," said Achmad.

Achmad continued, PGN expects work to run smoothly and zero accidents during construction. In addition to socialization regarding technical construction, PGN conducts socialization of utilization and how to subscribe to jargas to the community. Socialization is carried out online and offline. Information conveyed through the outside media of billboards, social media including by visiting residents, through RT/RW environmental forums and activities, as well as local sub-districts and sub-districts. Residents who want to subscribe to gas networks can also be done online via the www.pgas.id page.

Efforts to develop a gas network are also supported by cooperation with PT Jaya Real Property as the manager of the Bintaro area in terms of placing natural gas infrastructure facilities in public facilities, licensing facilitators (RT, RW), securing natural gas infrastructure from other third parties, emergency response, and other facilities.

The expansion of the household gas network to commercial in Bintaro will increase the reach of natural gas infrastructure and services in South Tangerang. Hopefully, we can continue to build, especially in areas near the natural gas pipeline. Development puts forward the technical rules of project and from the investment side, it is hoped that it can meet the rules of the economy," concluded Achmad.
