Government Promotes IKN And Electric Vehicles At The Hannover Messe 2023

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) plans to promote the Nusantara National Capital (IKN) at the Hannover Messe 2023 exhibition.

It is known that Indonesia was again selected as a partner country at this year's Hannover Messe international industrial trade exhibition which was held on 17-21 April 2023.

"At the time of the implementation of the Hannover Messe, we had approximately seven agendas, among which were related to the themes of sustainability, carbon neutrality, including the topic of the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem," Expert Staff to the Minister of Industry for Business Climate and Investment Andi Rizaldi told reporters at the Ministry of Industry building, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 8.

Currently, the government is providing a red carpet for business actors who want to build an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.

According to Andi, the Hannover Messe could be an opportunity for electric car investors from all over the world to enter Indonesia.

"There are German manufacturers, VW, BMW, and so on. America has Tesla, but it could be that there are Chinese manufacturers, for example, BYD. So, of course, they have the same opportunity to get incentives from the government," said Andi.

Apart from EV, at the Hannover Messe exhibition, Indonesia will also promote IKN Nusantara.

President Jokowi has signed Government Regulation (PP) Number 12 of 2023 concerning Granting Business Permits, Ease of Doing Business, and Investment Facilities for Business Actors in the Nusantara Capital.

In that regulation, the government provides various incentives and ease of doing business at Nusantara Institute of Science.

This will be disseminated to visitors to the Hannover Messe exhibition.

"There is a new PP Number 12 of 2023 related to business licenses, ease of doing business, and investment facilities for business actors in IKN. So, that includes policies that will be presented at the Hannover Messe forum," he concluded.
