Pertamina Announces Increase in Pertamax Fuel Prices as of March 1, 2023, to IDR 13,300 per Liter

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has made another price adjustment for fuel oil (BBM) throughout Indonesia. This time, Pertamina has decided to increase the price of Pertamax fuel, which is now priced at IDR 13,300 per litre for the DKI Jakarta area from IDR 12,800 previously. This price also applies to other regions such as Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java.

Quoted from the MyPertamina page, this price will take effect as of March 1, 2023. For other types of fuel, Pertamina has also increased the price of Pertamax Turbo, which was previously priced at IDR 14,800 per litre to IDR 15,100 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of Dexlite fuel has decreased from IDR 16,150 per litre to IDR 14,950 per litre. Meanwhile, Pertamina Dex was also observed to have decreased from IDR 16,850 to IDR 15,850.

"PT Pertamina (Persero) made adjustments to the price of general fuel oil (BBM) to implement the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of ESDM No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 as an amendment to Ministerial Decree No. 62 K/12 /MEM/2020 concerning the Basic Price Formula in Calculating Retail Selling Prices for General Types of Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Oil Distributed Through Public Fuel Filling Stations", wrote Pertamina.

As for subsidized fuel types such as Pertalite and Subsidized Solar, there are no price adjustments and are still priced at IDR 10,000 for Pertalite and IDR 6,800 for Pertamina Biosolar.

Regarding the price adjustment for non-subsidized fuel, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that soon, there are no government plans to adjust fuel prices.

Arifin continued, the government is not going to reduce the price of Pertalite because the economic price of this Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP) is still above the selling price of Pertalite which is currently set at IDR 10,000 per litre.

"It's still above its current economic value. If it hasn't decreased, it means it's not economical yet", continued Arifin.
