PT Timah And PTBA Sign PLTS Development Cooperation

MoU PT Timah Tbk and PT Bukit Asam Tbk (Doc. Mind ID)

JAKARTA - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) and PT Timah Tbk signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in exploring the potential for cooperation in the development of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) at PT Timah's operational location.

The signing was carried out by the Director of Business Development of PT Timah Tbk, Alwin Albar and Director of Business Development of PTBA Rafli Yandra on January 26, 2023. Director of Business Development MIND ID Dilo Seno Widagdo also witnessed the signing.

Through this collaboration, PTBA through its subsidiary, PT Bukit Energi Investama (IDX) will build PLTS to support PT Timah's operational activities.," said Rafli Yandra in a statement to the media, Tuesday, February 28.

He continued, Bukit Asam is increasingly expanding into the new renewable energy sector as part of the transformation towards an integrated and sustainable world-class energy and chemical company.

Cooperation with PT Timah is in line with PTBA's vision going forward. We believe that sustainable business practices will not only have a positive impact on nature's sustainability, but can also provide economic benefits and build PTBA's competitive advantages. With the company's ongoing business, PTBA will continue to be present to support national energy security," said Rafli.

Meanwhile, the Director of Business Development of PT Timah Tbk Alwin Albar said, PT Timah and Group MIND ID continue to support the Government's efforts towards Net Zero Emission, one of which is the use of renewable energy to minimize the environmental impact of the company's business activities.

In line with PT Timah Tbk's vision to become an environmentally friendly world-class mining company. PT Timah must grow up with innovation. One of them is the use of renewable energy. Besides being efficient, it is also environmentally friendly," he said.

Previously, PT Timah Tbk had also developed a floating PLTS pilot project in the Selinsing Reclamation Village to support electricity supply in the area.

This step is a form of commitment to support the reduction of global carbon emissions, in line with the Government's target to achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060.
