Shares Enter IDX ESD Leaders, Mitratel Strengthens Good Company Governance Visions

JAKARTA - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDI) has evaluated the IDX ESG Leaders index and placed PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk or Mitratel shares in the list of new members of the index starting September 21, 2022.

Mitratel Investment Director Hendra Purnama said the company's work so far has proven its vision and mission in implementing the principles of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).

"In the environmental field, we have more than 615 off-grid towers with power sources using solar panels. Furthermore, at this time we have also built research locations and development of solar panels as a source of electricity for on-grid locations in two locations, namely Parabilam Village, Wanasari, Brebes, Central Java and in Bukit Tengah, Bali," Hendra said in a statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 21.

The IDX ESG Leaders index is an index that measures price performance from stocks that have good environmental, social and corporate governance assessments and are not significantly involved in controversy, have good transaction liquidity and financial performance.

The IDX ESG Leaders index was built based on an ESG risk assessment that measures the extent to which the implementation of ESG is carried out by companies recorded based on the sharpening of risks in each business sector.

IDX in collaboration with Sustainalytics, a leading independent institution engaged in ESG research and corporate governance in the provision of ESG data. The ESG data provided is in the form of ESG risk assessment and controversial analysis which will form the basis for determining the IDX ESG Leaders Index constituent.

Hendra said his company also provided assistance and support during the COVID-19 pandemic, including free breakfast and basic necessities and ventilators to the hospital.

"We took this step as a form of the company's concern to always share with others and we can grow with the community," he said.

In terms of corporate governance, the issuer with the stock code MTEL has won the ISO 31000 Risk Management Certification, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Certification and SMK3. The company is also in the process of evaluating to obtain ISO 90001:2008 certification regarding quality management systems and ISO 27000 regarding information security management systems.
