Sri Mulyani Prepares Lembur Incentives For Civil Servants At The Ministry Of Finance

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati has prepared a new scheme related to providing overtime incentives for civil servants (PNS) at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) in line with the new work pattern during the COVID-19 pandemic. "The business of the process and how it works is very important to change it. This new work pattern from the Ministry of Finance can be seen from the current digitally designed workspace," he said in a working meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, September 5. Sri Mulyani explained that the working hours of the Ministry of Finance employees were more flexible during the COVID-19 pandemic, which initially took place from 07.30 to 17.00 at this time, up to 23.00. The longer working hours occurred because many meetings were held at night so that the Ministry of Finance employees needed to increase their working hours. "We can now have a meeting at night after dinner each from home so the working hours take longer. Although it does seem that his physical activity is not what it used to be," he explained. Although employees hold online meetings or overtime, this will still affect the Ministry of Finance in designing awards and punishments. "Things like this will bring up ideas about how the incentive system that we have to design with flucible working hours and working places," he said. On the other hand, Sri Mulyani said that her party had actually made various reforms in the Ministry of Finance's work system to support the work-life balance of employees. The reforms include building a satellite office so that employees can work without having to come to their respective offices. This satellite office is available at the Banten Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC), PKN STAN Complex in South Tangerang as well as the State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) in Bekasi. "This means that our employees (who live) in sub-urban can work at the satellite office. This greatly reduces their traffic and in terms of work-life balance is also better," he said.
