Remember Jokowi To Ukraine? It Turns Out That The Humanitarian Aid That Was Brought Was Worth Rp. 3.6 Billion

JAKARTA - Some time ago President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Ukraine to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the visit, President Jokowi, who was accompanied by First Lady Iriana, was known to have brought humanitarian aid from the Indonesian people to the war-torn Ukrainian people.

In the report on the realization of the first half of the 2022 State Budget (APBN) released by the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), it is stated that the assistance is part of a grant given to other countries.

"In the first semester of 2022, grants were made to foreign governments/foreign institutions with a realization of IDR 3.6 billion, which was used to provide grants to the Ukrainian government in the context of humanitarian grants and other emergency needs", said the Ministry of Finance in its report, quoted on Tuesday, July 12.

The grant to Ukraine is one of the government programs which is generally dominated by domestic grants.

In total, the realization of the grant management program until the end of the first semester of 2022 is IDR 1.3 trillion. This figure is equivalent to 26.9 percent of the total budget ceiling in Presidential Decree No. 98 of 2022.

Previously reported, humanitarian aid from Indonesia to Ukraine was symbolically given by the First Lady to local hospitals and the Red Cross, which is tasked with dealing with victims of the war situation.

The aid was seen wrapped in a red and white Indonesian flag with the words Indonesia Humanitarian Aid to the People of Ukraine.
