Erick Thohir Pushes For Gender Equality, 10 Women Successfully Lead SOEs: Starting From Nicke Widyawati To Fetty Kwartati

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir continues to encourage the representation of women on the board of directors of state-owned companies. Erick set a target of 15 percent of female leaders in 2021. Then, the target was increased to 25 percent in 2023.

"Outside of programs that are corporate business, the Ministry of SOEs is also transforming human capital. It is recorded that during 2021 the Ministry of SOEs succeeded in realizing the gender equality target, namely 15 percent of SOE directors' positions have been occupied by women," he said, in Jakarta, Saturday, January 1.

For your information, the Ministry of SOEs continues to encourage gender equality. This step aims to form a more inclusive SOE.

Under the leadership of Erick Thohir, the Ministry of SOEs continues to strive to increase the ability of women's talents to meet the target of 25 percent female representation by 2023.

Previously, Deputy Minister of SOEs Pahala Nugraha Mansury said the Ministry of SOEs was also building the Srikandi community, as a forum for women leaders and women to support each other.

Pahala admits that he believes that women can and have the right to be anything. In addition, companies with female talent are economically empowered companies.

The following are women who managed to enter the circle of state-owned companies, quoted from a document from the Ministry of SOEs.

1. Nicke Widyawati

Nicke served as President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) based on Decree no. Decree of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Number: SK-97/MBU/04/2018, dated April 20, 2018, concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Members of the Board of Directors of the Company PT Pertamina.

Quoted from Pertamina's official website, Nicke is a graduate of Business Law, Padjadjaran University (S2) in 2009 and Industrial Engineering, ITB (S1) in 1991.

Prior to serving as President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati was trusted as Pertamina's HR Director and served as Director of Strategic Procurement 1 of PT PLN (Persero).

2. Setia N. Milatia Moemin

Setia has been the President Director of Damri since 2017. The appointment of Setia is stated in the Decree of the Minister of SOE Number: SK-278/MBU/12/2017. For Setia, the transportation industry is not something foreign, because before leading Perum Damri, she was a member of the audit committee of PT Kereta Api Indonesia.

Setia has also been on the Advisory Team of the Director-General of Land Transportation and Finance Director of PT Eka Sari Lorena. In addition, she was also the State Director of the Institute Transportation Department and Policy (ITPD), Policy Writer for the Great Indonesia Cabinet (Jokowi-JK). Then, the Special Expert Staff of the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ), and until now has served as a Member of the Jakarta City Transportation Council (DTKJ).

One year after Setia became the company's president director, Damri recorded a 300 percent increase in the company's net profit ending 2018 reaching IDR 21.56 billion.

3. Ira Puspa Dewi

Ira currently serves as the President Director of PT ASDP Ferry. Prior to this position, Ira was the Director of Retail, Network, and HR of PT Pos Indonesia and the President Director of PT Sarinah (Persero).

Ira also worked for 17.5 years at the Gap Inc Global Initiative for the Asian region before deciding to join a BUMN. Gap Inc. is America's largest specialty retailer, known for its GAP and Banana Republic brands

Meanwhile, Ira is a Doctor of Strategic Management who graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia. She also completed a Master in Development Management at the Asia Institute of Management, Philippines. Ira is also a Bachelor of Animal Husbandry Socio-Economics from Brawijaya University, Malang.

4. Alexandra Askandar

Alexandra is the deputy President Director of Bank Mandiri, who was elected in 2020. Alexandra herself is a new person at Bank Mandiri. Her position in the company is Director of Corporate Banking.

Alexandra herself also served as Group Head of Corporate Banking in 2015. Then in 2016, she served as senior Executive Vice President.

The woman who was born in 1972 earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Indonesia and an MBA from Boston University, United States.

5. Farida Thamrin

Farida is the director of finance and risk management of PT Bukit Asam since April 2021. Prior to joining PTBA, Farida had a long career at Bank Mandiri. She briefly served as Group Head of Corporate Solution at Bank Mandiri, in 2019-April 2021.

She has also held the position of Group Head Treasury at PT Bank Mandiri in 2016-2019 and Group Head Market Risk at PT Bank Mandiri for the period 2015-2016.

6. Devi Pradnya Paramita

Devi is the Finance Director of MIND ID. Quoted from the company's official website, she initially started her career at Financial Advisory Services of PwC. Devi later worked as an economist for the United States Government Office.

She also served as CFO for PGN Saka, the upstream branch of the state gas company. Devi also briefly joined Bakrie & Brothers as Head of the Finance Department and led Corporate Finance at Medco Energi.

Devi is a graduate of Parahyangan Catholic University. She also obtained a Master of Finance degree in Risk Management from ICMA Business School, UK in 2000. She also took an economics course at FSI, Washington DC, in 2016.

7. Novita Widya

Novita is the finance director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI. Previously, Novita also served as Senior Vice President Accounting for PT Bank Mandiri Persero Tbk in 2017-2020 and Senior Vice President Strategy & Performance Management for Mandiri in 2020.

8. Yuliana Indrianti

Yuliana is the Director of Research and Business Development of PT Bio Farma. Yuliana's appointment is stated in the Decree of the Minister of SOEs number SK-322/MBU/10/2021 regarding changes to the nomenclature of positions, assignment of the Commander to appoint members of the board of directors of the company PT Bio Farma on October 1, 2021.

Prior to joining BUMN, Yuliana worked in several pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia and held strategic positions. One of them is the Director of Licensing Out and Regulatory Affairs of PT Kalbe Genexine Biologics.

9. Hilda Savitri

Hilda is the finance director of PT Hutama Karya (Persero). Her appointment was based on the decree of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Number: SK-182/BMU/06/2020.

Quoted from the company's official website, Hilda had a career as Director of PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance in 2016-2020 and Director of Investment at TAEL Management (2007-2015).

10. Fetty Kwartati

Fetty is the President Director of PT Sarinah (Persero). She was appointed as the main Director in 2020 Based on the Decree of the Minister of BUMN Number: SK-247/MBU/07/2020.

Prior to joining BUMN, Fetty was the Corporate Secretary & Head of Investor Relations of PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk. (MAP) since 2010. Then, she was also the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Shopping Center Tenants Association.
