Ministry Of Finance Donates IDR 100 Million For Disaster Recovery Of Mount Semeru Eruption

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is said to have distributed donations worth IDR 100 million for the management of the Mount Semeru eruption disaster in East Java.

In an official broadcast released on Wednesday, December 8, it was revealed that this assistance is a form of solidarity from the early stage of the Ministry of Finance Care Program. The plan is that the follow-up assistance will continue by coordinating through the vertical offices of the Ministry of Finance in East Java in collaboration with the local disaster task force.

Meanwhile, this disaster response action is in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani who reminded that the year-end period is a fairly risky time in terms of natural conditions.

"I ask the Ministry of Finance to be alert in the mechanism for supporting the State Budget (APBN) and transfer to the region and village funds (TKDD) in dealing with natural disasters that have the potential to increase towards the end of the year and the beginning of the year," she said.

Meanwhile, this material support has been spent to buy some needed items and directly distributed through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lumajang Regency. The assistance provided was in the form of tarpaulins, footwear, clothing, food, baby equipment, medicines and toiletries.

Furthermore, if necessary, the Ministry of Finance, including the Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) or the Public Service Agency (BLU), will provide assistance again in accordance with the results of the identification of community needs in the field.

For information, the Ministry of Finance Cares Program is a program from employees of the Ministry of Finance in goodness to strengthen relations among the nation's children.

This program aims to help ease the burden of disasters that occur in the community. The funds used by the Ministry of Finance Cares come from voluntary contributions from employees in all work units spread throughout Indonesia.
