Hotels In Mataram Full On D-1 World Superbike Mandalika

MATARAM - The Mataram City Tourism Office, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, said that on the D-1 of the World Superbike grand event at Circut Pertamina Mandalika, hotel occupancy in Mataram was full until November 21.

"Alhamdulillah, H-1 WSBK for star and non-star hotels in Mataram is full, because WSBK guests and spectators are starting to arrive to watch the world motorcycle racing from November 19-21," said Head of the Mataram City Tourism Office H Nizar Denny Cahyadi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, 19 November.

Denny, who was met on the sidelines accompanying the Mayor of Mataram H Mohan Roliskana, checked the readiness of hoteliers in welcoming WSBK guests, saying that the number of hotel rooms in Mataram City was recorded at 4,077 rooms.

However, around 2,777 rooms can be used because 1,300 rooms are used by Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) for employee quarantine.

The 2,777 rooms include three hotels that previously served as emergency COVID-19 hospitals, namely Hotel Nutana, Fizz, and Grand Iin.

"But that does not include the Prime Prak Hotel on Udayana Street. The information is that they will open five floors," he said.

Denny said the world motorcycle racing event at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, had a significant impact on tourism behavior in Mataram City.

Although the activity took place in Central Lombok Regency, as a buffer zone, Mataram City received a significant economic impact and this became an opportunity as well as a breath of fresh air for tourism actors.

"During the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism actors seemed to be 'sleeping' because there were no tourism activities as a result of the policy for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM)," he said.
