JAKARTA - The case of the father's rape of his biological daughter, NF, in Teluknaga, Tangerang, has shocked the public. It was Syarif Hidayat, a middle-aged man who had the heart to rape his own blood until he ran into a river at his house.

Syarif's lecherous behavior came to light after the victim's brother, RZ, caught his father raping his sister. RZ did not stay silent. He immediately went berserk and asked Syarif to come out while calling his father the nickname 'demons'.

The perpetrator was immediately arrested and the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang City Metro Police, Kompol Rio Mikael Tobing, revealed the reason Syarif had the heart to rape his biological child for years. The perpetrator admitted that he did not get maximum service from his wife, who was busy working and tired when he got home.

"His wife is busy working. Service to her husband is lacking," Rio said in a short message, Thursday, August 31.

This recitation has been going on since the NF victim was still in elementary school (SD), since 2014 until now 2023, at the age of 19.

The case of a father raping a biological child is not the first time this has happened. Similar cases often make residents angry. Not long ago, there was also a commotion about the father raping his biological child in Banyumas, Central Java. More terrible, suspect Rudi (57) killed seven babies who were born from an inses relationship with his eldest daughter.

It's terrible and disgusting. The father who should be the protector and first love of his daughter actually has the heart to commit heinous acts, even repeatedly. According to psychologist and chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency, Seto Mulyadi, the perpetrator committed the crime not only because of his intention, but because of the opportunity.

"Perpetrators of sexual crimes are committed by those closest to us, because we generally don't expect them. Perpetrators do it with persuasion, with affection, even though they actually have a hidden meaning," said the man who is familiarly called Kak Seto while talking to VOI.

In addition, sexual crimes also occur due to strong libido, strong sexual urges, and no proper distribution. Finally, children who are under their own control become victims.

The father's feeling of power towards children is also one of the factors that causes acts of rape in the domestic realm. Deputy for Child Special Protection at the Ministry of PPPA, Nahar, revealed several factors that could be the cause of why children are often victims of sexual violence, which is even carried out by those closest to them.

One of them is the inequality of power relations which is still at the root of the problem of the vulnerability of women and children to violence and exploitation, including gender-based violence, which not only happens to men and women, but children.

"As the lowest owner of social positions, both in the family and society, children are very vulnerable to violence. Children are considered less able to refuse, resist, are weak, helpless, and have dependence on adults around them, and are easily tricked when others commit violence against themselves," said Nahar in a message to VOI.

Especially for girls who become double vulnerable groups, apart from being women but also children. This causes girls to be more vulnerable to being victims and experience more negative impacts that are sustainable, especially sexual violence," he continued.

In order to break up sexual crimes committed by close people requires the involvement of all parties, starting from the closest environment, namely the family. In addition, the neighborhood level (RT) also needs to actively play a role in preventive acts of rape by the closest family.

Unsatisfaction from the community can be one of the causes of rampant sexual crimes in the domestic realm. They argued that they were reluctant to interfere in other people's affairs, even though it was a shared responsibility.

"Don't let this rape case be like a fire, then report it. For this reason, it is necessary to empower all residents to form a child protection section. Protecting children requires the involvement of the people of the village. It is everyone's obligation to protect children. The community must care to protect children, "Sis Seto explained.

Parents also have an important role in preventing sexual violence in the domestic realm. One of them is by observing excessive attitudes or behavior, in this case father, towards the victim. Excessive and discriminatory attention between one child and another is also suspected.

"Excessive attention seems to be considered a natural thing, even though in fact he will 'perse' the victim or can be called a child groundbreaking act," explained Kak Seto.
