JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto gave a positive assessment of the performance of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia. According to Prabowo, Bahlil's work so far is in the category of satisfactory.

Prabowo made the statement while attending Bahlil's 50th birthday and the launch of 10 books at the Jakarta Theater, Friday, August 7.

"I continue to assess his work, and I assess that until now I have to give him a satisfactory report," said Prabowo.

Prabowo then joked about the standard of value which he said was not easy to give. He said the perfect value of 100 only belonged to God.

In his joke, Prabowo said the value for a minister in the range of 88 to 89 was already high.

"If the minister can get 88-89, okay. It's satisfactory, satisfactory," he said.

However, Prabowo emphasized that the assessment was not final. According to Prabowo, there is still time for Bahlil and other ministers to improve performance.

"But it's still long. There's still time to improve. For others, there's still time to improve the value," he said.

Prabowo said Bahlil was not only his assistant in the cabinet. Bahlil's position as Chairman of the Golkar Party also made the two of them in political relations as partners.

"He is not just a subordinate. He is a minister, but also a partner. Because he is the chairman of a big party," said Prabowo.

According to Prabowo, cooperation in the cabinet so far has produced a number of achievements which he considers real.

He touched on food self-sufficiency, energy management, village bridge construction, school repairs, and health services.

Prabowo said the government still had a long way to go and asked ministers to continue to be oriented towards the people's interests.
