CENTRAL PAPUA - The Koops TNI Papua Security Patrol Team managed to paralyze one of the leaders of the TPNPB-OPM Kodap III with the initials Hurbianus Mirip, who was recognized as a Brigadier General in the group's structure and was Aibon Kogoya's subordinate, in a shootout in the Nabire area, Central Papua, Sunday, March 15.

The incident occurred when the patrol team found two members of the TPNPB-OPM carrying firearms. In an effort to take action, there was a shootout that caused the two OPM members to flee into the forest. The team then carried out a pursuit and found one dead at a place known as Hurbianus Mirip.

Hurbianus Mirip is known to be a DPO since 2025 with the number DPO/63/IX/RES.1.7./2025/Reskrim and DPO/75/XI/2025/Reskrim. He was involved in a number of acts of violence and murder in the Papua region.

This success was also strengthened by the recognition of the leader of his group, Aibon Kogoya, who stated that one of his members was killed in a shootout with the TNI-Polri in Nabire. "Our member, Brigadier General Urbianus Mirip, fell in the battlefield in a shootout in Pepaya Village, Nabire," said Aibon Kogoya.

Head of Information Koops TNI Papua, Lieutenant Colonel Inf M. Wirya Arthadiguna, said, "The TNI insists that it will not give space for the TPNPB-OPM group in Papua in order to maintain the sovereignty and security of the community, with a firm approach accompanied by efforts to build stability, welfare, and community trust," he said.
