The Tebet Police have arrested a man with the initials RP (50), a resident of Bogor, in the Tebet area, South Jakarta. He is suspected of being involved in a job vacancy fraud case with a total loss of around Rp40 million for the victim.
Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Police, Kompol Murodhi, explained that the RP was handed over to investigators after the Unit 1 Criminal Investigation Unit received a report and brought the alleged perpetrator on Wednesday, November 3, 2025, at around 22.00 WIB.
"The perpetrator is suspected of having committed a criminal act of fraud and embezzlement that occurred about two weeks ago in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta," he said in a written statement Thursday, November 4, 2025.
In the action, RP promised that victims could be accepted for work as security guards, TransJakarta bus drivers, and a number of other positions.
Murodhi also said that the victims were asked for a large amount of money.
"The victim was asked to pay a sum of money ranging from Rp. 2 million, to Rp. 4 million, but until now the victims have not worked," he said
Murodhi emphasized that his party had examined the witnesses. He also appealed to the victims to make an official report so that the legal process can be continued. This is because the victims have not made a police report.
"The crime scene (TKP) is spread across South Jakarta, East Jakarta and North Jakarta. We are still gathering additional information," he concluded.
