RI-Anhui China's Cooperation Continues To Develop, Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs Highlights Three Potential Sectors

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Arrmanatha Nasir, welcomed the development of Indonesia's cooperation with Anhui Province, China, assessing that there are three potential sectors to improve relations that have been established.

Speaking at the Indonesia Investment Business Forum: "Celebrating 75 Years of Indonesia China Diplomatic Relations: Sharing the Future of Investment Cooperation" at Hefei, Anhui, China last week, the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the involvement of companies from Anhui in cooperation in various fields with Indonesia.

"I am pleased to hear that in recent years, companies from Anhui have increased their involvement and interest in Indonesia, including in areas such as cement manufacturing, infrastructure development, energy transition, and partnerships with East Kalimantan, including the development of our new capital city, Nusantara," said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, citing his speech in the forum (3/12).

Deputy Foreign Minister Tata, as he is familiarly called, assessed that in the future there will be three sectors where Indonesia and Anhui Province can build stronger partnerships.

First, new energy vehicles and battery ecosystems. Second, digital technology and AI development. Third, smart agriculture and food security.

Referring to the economy of the two countries which he said complemented each other, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tata said, Anhui is the main center for manufacturing and innovation of electric vehicles. Meanwhile, Indonesia is developing one of the most complete electric vehicle battery supply chains in the world, from nickel processing to battery production.

"Together, we can build a competitive and sustainable regional electric vehicle ecosystem, which supports the global green transition," explained the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, citing his speech at the forum (3/12).

Next, Anhui's superiority in AI (artificial intelligence) and digital research and development complements Indonesia's position as the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia, said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to him, opportunities for joint innovation and development of digital talent between the two countries are wide open, providing potential benefits that are mutually beneficial for Indonesia and China.

The last sector he highlighted was Anhui's superiority in agricultural technology, smart agriculture and food processing.

According to him, these are areas that are now Indonesia's priority to increase productivity and resilience.

"This collaboration will be very important because the Indonesian government has prioritized the Free Nutrition Food Program. This program provides healthy food for 80 million students and pregnant women throughout the archipelago," explained Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tata.

"This program activates new value chains, encourages demand for food production, and presents substantial investment opportunities in agriculture, logistics, and food processing," he said.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tata said Anhui is an area that is admired for its dynamic growth, technological innovation, and strong industrial capabilities.

He also appreciated the joint commitment of all parties from the two countries that have a shared commitment to increasing economic cooperation, strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships between Indonesia and China, especially with Anhui Province.
