Arya Daru's Family Asks For A Case And Open: If You Are Afraid, Let The Criminal Investigation Police Handling It

JAKARTA - The attorney for the family of the late Arya Daru Parlaungan (ADP), Nicholay Aprilindo, encouraged the Polda Metro Jaya to immediately hold a case related to the death of the Deputy Diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu).

He emphasized that the family does not mind if all information is disclosed to the public because there is no privacy that needs to be covered up.

This statement was made by Nicholay after fulfilling the audience invitation at the Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The invitation was addressed to the deceased's biological father, Suharyono, and the wife of the deceased, Vita Meta Ayu.

"We ask that the title of the case be carried out immediately. In the title of the case, we also ask for an increase in status to investigation, so that there are legal remedies and forced efforts against parties suspected of being involved in this mysterious death," he told the media at Polda Metro Jaya.

Nicholay also asked the Polda Metro Jaya's commitment to handle the case transparently, including opening hearings and case titles to the public and involving the mass media.

"If you say there is privacy, what privacy? Just open it. There is no need to cover it up, because this has become a common secret. The family has also stated that they are willing if everything is opened, even to the mass media," he said.

He added that if the request was not fulfilled, his party would ask that the investigation into the Arya Daru death case be taken over by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

"If there is fear or reluctance from the Polda Metro Jaya to open this case clearly, let the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters handle it," he concluded.

The case of the death of a young diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arya Daru Pangayunan, is still ongoing at Polda Metro Jaya.

Investigators have sent an audience letter to Arya Daru's wife and biological father. Information obtained by Arya Daru's wife, Meta Ayu Puspitasari and Arya Daru's biological father, Subaryo, have received the invitation letter.

The audience was held at the Merro Jaya Police Ditreskrimum Building, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, with discussions regarding the explanation of the results of the examination/investigation of Arya Daru's death to the family.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto confirmed the agenda of the Arya Daru family audience.

"Yes, it is true for the interim audience (which was invited) the wife and family," he said.
