JAKARTA The East Jakarta Education Office has moved quickly to address the story of Hafithar Hasan (8), a grade 1 student at SDN Klender 04, which went viral because he traveled about 70 kilometers back and forth from Tangerang to East Jakarta to go to school.

The Head of Education for Duren Sawit Subdistrict, Farida Farhah, said that his party had communicated with the Hafithar family and was preparing concrete steps to ease the burden on the child.

"We are grateful for the public's attention and are preparing a number of steps to help Hafithar," said Farida in Jakarta, Saturday, November 22, 2025.

The story of Hafithar sticking out after the owner of the TikTok account, Muji Sambo, recorded himself while waiting for the Commuter Line to go to Bekasi Station at Tanah Abang Station. The youngest of five children previously lived in Sumur Village, East Jakarta, before their mother, Ida Lamtiur (48), moved to work as household assistants to Tangerang and then Parung, Bogor. Hafithar's father died five years ago.

Farida explained that Hafithar's mother plans to move her son to a public school near a new residence in Parung early next year. However, a number of other options are also being discussed.

Among other things, entrusting Hafithar at his schoolmate's house in Klender until the process of changing schools is complete. Another option, Hafihar's mother returns to Jakarta so that Hafihar can stay in SDN Klender 04. If that scenario occurs, the Education Sub-Department is ready to process educational facilities including the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).

"We pay serious attention. God willing, it is the best for Hafithar," said Farida.
