Examination Of Perpetrators Of The SMAN 72 Jakarta Bomb Explosion Postponed

Deputy Director of General Criminal Investigation (Wadirreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Putu Kholis Aryana revealed that the process of examining the perpetrators of the bomb explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta was delayed due to unstable health conditions.

According to Putu Kholis, investigators are still monitoring the condition of the Child in Conflict with Law (ABH) with the initials F who was the perpetrator in the incident. Until now, the perpetrator ABH is undergoing intensive treatment inpatient room at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital.

On Monday 17 November 2025, the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya team held a coordination meeting with the Correctional Center (Bapas), related agencies, Densus 88, and a team of doctors.

"From the results of the meeting, a plan for a request for information against ABH perpetrators is targeted to be held in the range of 17 21 November 2025," he told the media at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Putu Kholis admitted that his party and companions, including psychologists, had visited the Police Hospital to meet the team of doctors who treated ABH.

However, on Tuesday 18 November 2025 morning, the condition of the ABH perpetrators was still unstable and did not allow for questioning.

"It was observed that until this morning the conditions had not been possible to be questioned," he said.

Even so, the police continued other steps in the investigation process.

"Investigation of digital evidence and evidence that is being analyzed by the Forensic Laboratory continues," he added.

In addition, examinations of witnesses and a number of other children that have been scheduled for this week are still being carried out.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto previously said that the police had examined 46 child witnesses as students.

According to him, the examination was carried out in conjunction with observational activities from the Forensic Psychology Association (Apsifor) team.

"Today's investigators examined 46 child witnesses (parallels with active observation from APSIFOR), further confiscated evidence from the victim's body at RSIJ (Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Cempaka Putih)," said Kombes Budi.

Budi explained that the examination of ABH's father had also been carried out.

"Our ABH's father has taken his statement today which was taken by the testimony of a child witness," he added.

The bomb explosion incident occurred in the SMAN 72 Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta on Friday, November 7, 2025 at noon.

Due to the explosion, a number of victims were rushed to the hospital. The total number of victims as a result of the explosion was 96 people.
