JAKARTA The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) recorded that the number of Indonesian capital market investors continued to grow significantly and managed to exceed the number of 18 million single investors identification (SID), to be precise 18,012,665 SID at the end of August 2025.

IDX Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik said that of this number, the number of stock investors had reached 7,558,552 SID with 1,177,108 SIDs being new investors.

He said that since the "Aku Investor Saham" campaign was launched in 2023, there has been a significant increase in the number of investors, where in 2024, there will be an additional 2.7 million new investors, and until August 2025, the number of new investors will increase by 3.1 million.
"This campaign is carried out through 29 IDX Manpower Offices, 970 Investment Gallerys in Higher Education throughout Indonesia and by more than 6,000 Capital Market Ambassadors. Educational and socialization activities are more than 30,000 activities every year to increase awareness, literacy and capital market inclusion," he explained.

Jeffrey said that by 2025, the geographical distribution of investors was dominated by Java Island, which was around 70 percent and the island of Sumatra contributed around 14 percent, and the rest came from other islands.
Meanwhile, as a comparison, in 2024, investors from Java will be recorded at 68 percent, while from Sumatra it will be 16 percent and the rest will come from other islands.
He added that in terms of age, the capital market investor profile in 2025 is as follows 54.23 percent under the age of 30, 24.82 percent 31 40 years old, 12.26 percent 41' 50 years old, 5.74 percent 51' 60 years old, and 2.95 percent over 60 years old.
