JAKARTA - Acting Head of the Maros Regency Education Office (Kadis) Andi Wandi Noble Putra Patabai said that the cutting of the honorarium for non-State Civil Apparatus (ASN) teachers was not merely a regional policy, but a consequence of the circular letter from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) Number 9 of 2025.

"In the regulation, the financing of honorariums for education teachers and non-ASN education personnel is limited to a maximum of 20 percent of the state education unit budget, as well as 40 percent of education units organized by the community," said Andi Wandi in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), Saturday, quoted by Antara.

He said the provisions apply to the use of Regular PAUD BOPs, Regular BOSSes and regular Equivalence BOPs for the 2025 fiscal year.

"If usually they still get an honorarium of Rp. 1 million per month, now the remaining Rp. 500 thousand per month," he said.

The same thing was stated by one of the school guards, ZN, who usually receives an honorarium of Rp. 750 thousand per month, but now the remaining Rp. 250 thousand per month.

Therefore, he continued, his party hopes that policy makers in this area will not only carry out existing regulations, but also consider the lives of honorary actors engaged in education who have been the backbone of the school.

Especially at this time, he said, the price of household needs, especially basic necessities, continues to move up while people's income tends to decrease.

"Therefore, the implementation of the central policy can be reconsidered by looking at the condition of honorary workers who are already at the forefront of advancing education," he said.
