Youth Creativity From JFC Welcomes Delegation At CHANDI 2025

BALI - There was something special at the opening of CHANDI 2025 in Bali. State guests were greeted by a row of spectacular costumes, ranging from nuances of the archipelago, the world, to animation. All performed in great detail and imagination.

According to the Special Staff of the Minister of Culture for Media and Communication, M. Asrian Mirza, this costume parade presented 50 participants who were brought in directly from Jember, East Java. They are part of the Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC).

"This is the latest theme. There are 50 people with various costumes from Jember Fashion Carnaval," he explained when met at the Menur Hotel, Wednesday (3/9). He emphasized that this work must be appreciated as part of Indonesian cultural diplomacy to the world.

The costumes that are displayed are no joke. There is an Egyptian pyramid concept weighing up to 17 kilograms, which takes 2'3 months to work. The cost of making can penetrate Rp. 8 million, depending on the level of complexity. Everything is designed with a touch of art as well as perseverance.

Vanescya, a student of SMA Negeri Jember, appeared in a costume with an Egyptian pyramid concept made from 40 percent recycled. "Following training, learning fashion, as well as the practice of making costumes. From ingredients to so it takes three months," he said.

Meanwhile, Linda, a student at Argopuro University, Jember, chose the theme of the NTT Lontar Leaf with the characters Lota Ende. He designed the costume for two months at a cost of around Rp. 4 million. "I chose NTT because it was rarely picked up. The references are from the internet and Pinterest," he said.

This young people's creativity gets a separate stage through the 2025 Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) which was held last August in Jember, East Java. The agenda opens with Kids Carnival and Pets Carnival along Jalan Sudarman to GOR Kaliwates, Jember. Thousands of spectators from various regions packed the arena, watching children aged 412 years in stalls with thematic clothes themed flora, fauna, to fantasy.

The spectacular nuances were brought to CHANDI 2025 which was attended by dozens of countries and hundreds of delegates. This is not just entertainment, but the future stage. Young people of Jember show that cultural diplomacy can be born from creativity, courage, and cloth that is sewn with great dreams.
