Condemns Netanyahu's Statement, OKI Warns Of The Dangers Of Israel's Vision

JAKARTA - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the provocative statement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the so-called "Israel Raya vision" considers it an extension of the rhetoric of extremism, incitement, aggression, and neglect of state sovereignty, as well as a blatant violation of international law principles, UN Charter, and related resolutions.

The OIC stressed that this aggressive statement aims to avoid Israel's international obligations as a occupation force and to continue to violate the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to self-determine and establish their independent state on the 1967 border with Jerusalem as its capital, the WAFA reported Aug. 14.

The OIC further warns of the danger of the colonial discourse of expansionists that threatens regional and international security and peace, as well as triggers cycles of violence, expands conflict, and prolongs it in the region.

The OIC appealed to the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to carry out its responsibilities in dealing with this aggressive policy, take firm action to stop Israeli aggression, implement two-state solutions, and end the illegal occupation of occupied Palestinian and Arab territories since 1967, as this is the basis for achieving a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.

Previously, Netanyahu said in an interview with TV channel I24, he was fulfilling a "historical and spiritual mission", feeling its connection with the concept of "Israel Raya."

The term "Israel Raya" comes after the 1967 Six Day War to refer to Israel and its newly occupied areas: East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula, and the Golan Heights.

"Israel Raya" is a term used in religious and political movements that advocates for the expansion of Israeli territory.
