SOLO - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited the Integrated Center People's School Prof. Dr. Soeharso in Solo, Central Java, to ensure that students who live in school dormitories can be comfortable while attending the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).
When he arrived at school, Vice President Gibran went straight to the big hall where hundreds of students were enjoying lunch which was also part of the government's Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program.
"Is it comfortable here?" asked the Vice President to open a conversation with one of the 10 high school male students at the Integrated Center People's School Prof. Dr. Soeharso, Jalan Army Student, Solo, Central Java, Friday, July 18.
Around 200 students at the People's School are enjoying their nutritious lunch, consisting of rice, balydo chicken, capcay, fried tempeh flour and oranges.
In general, they feel at home, even though they are separated from their parents at home.
During the MPLS period, students received character education to build disciplined attitudes, as well as extracurricular attitudes which would later be adapted to their talents and desires.
One of the students of the People's School, Oktaviani, admitted that she had missed the atmosphere of the house. However, he managed to adapt quickly to his new friends.
"It's fun, getting a lot of experience, new friends, new places, and a new environment. The facilities are also good. We learn discipline and rows in this period of introduction," he said.
After reviewing the implementation of MBG at the People's School, the Vice President then reviewed student facilities, such as the dormitory room in which there are level beds, lockers, and bathrooms.
"All of these facilities are the same between female and male students," asked the vice president.
