JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has prepared 80 hectares of land in Subang Regency, West Java, to function as a center for developing superior cow seeds and artificial insemination services to support increased domestic livestock production.
Director General of Animal Husbandry and Health, Agung Suganda said, this initiative is part of the government's long-term strategy to open investment space as well as accelerate the availability of animal protein for the community, especially in order to support national priority programs such as Free Nutrition Food (MBG).
He conveyed this in a coordination meeting (rakor) with the Indonesian Army National Army (TNI AD), at the Ministry of Agriculture Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 21.
"Lands like this are very important to attract investors who want to contribute to strengthening the dairy cow industry. This is not just an asset development, but a real step to strengthen the national food system," he said.
Land development in Subang is targeted to be a model for modern livestock areas based on reproductive technology that not only strengthens the population of national superior seeds, but is also a strategic facility in expanding partnerships between the government, private sector, and local farmer associations.
"With this collaboration, we want to ensure that every step of developing livestock is not only efficient, but also sustainable," continued Agung.
