The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT Transportation Agency) Transportation Agency (Dishub NTT) appealed to public transport drivers to comply with the new rules that require all Interior City Transportation (AKDP) and microlets to enter and stop at the Bimoku Type A Terminal, Kupang.

Technical Review of Road Policy for Road Transportation Dishub NTT-Dili Handosiswoyo, explained that this rule is part of the policy of the Class II NTT Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) to improve connectivity and integration of land transportation services in the Timor area.

"This rule is important for drivers and the public as passengers to support connectivity and integration of land transportation," said Handosiswoyo in Kupang, Antara, Thursday, May 22.

Previously, the Bimoku Terminal only served State Border Transport (ALBN) and pioneer buses. However, with this new policy, the terminal is now open to all AKDP and microlets, which will make Bimoku an official departure and transit point.

With this route change, AKDP and microlet buses will take the route from Oebobo Terminal to Bimoku Terminal via Jalan Frans Seda Liliba Bridge Tugu Merpati and Kupang Outer Ring Road. The old route that passes through dense areas such as Oesapa and Jalan Timor Raya is no longer used.

"With this new route, it is hoped that there will be no more shadow terminals in Oesapa shops or Jalan Timor Raya which often trigger congestion," he explained.

Dili added that this policy not only targets traffic arrangement, but also aims to create an orderly and efficient public transportation system, in line with the Ministry of Transportation's program.

To support the implementation of this rule, the NTT Transportation Agency cooperates with the NTT BPTD, Kupang City Transportation Agency, and regional police to conduct direct socialization to the field.

"Today we also directly participated in the socialization. Hopefully, this rule can run smoothly and be obeyed by all parties," he said.

The public is also advised to get used to access public transportation from the Bimoku Terminal, especially for long-distance travel, so that the benefits of transportation integration are really widely felt.
